Winter and Sping

I've been a bit behind posting photos because I've been busy working on my senior thesis all year. That's done now, so here is are a bunch from the last six months all together. More to come soon!

Three Seasons

This is a fun little photo manipulation I did earlier this month of Kent, one of the buildings on campus. I had a photo I took last year during the snowpacalypse, and another that I took from the same spot during the fall, so I figured I would just run out to the quads during sunset and get a third photo from the same spot and blend them all together. Blending them was a little tricky because I didn't do a very good job of lining the photos up perfectly, so I couldn't just split the photo into vertical thirds for each season. In any case after a little tinkering this is what I came up with and I'm fairly happy with the final result.

Mansueto Library Opening (and other spring campus photos)

Tomorrow marks the unofficial opening of the Joe and Rika Mansueto Library. The library features underground book stacks and a robotic arm that fetches books for you. Above ground, a large glass dome surrounds the reading room. Perhaps the architects were trying to make up for the dark, prison-like atmosphere in the adjacent Regenstein Library. The reading room seats 180, and I have a feeling it will be way over capacity for the first few weeks after opening. Enjoy!
