After spending the most exciting, incredible, and mindblowing nine months of my life in China, I retured to the States last Friday. This meant leaving my wonderful Chinese host family, my friends, and Beijing; all three were painful to leave. Luckily, I did get to see my American family again. A little groggy after the 11-hour flight, my mom, dad, and littler brother were waiting outside customs cheering as I came out. We stopped and got bagels and lox before we even got home, and then ate Zachary's pizza for dinner (I had been missing both of the immensly since going to China; you can't buy either in Beijing). Being back is bittersweet; it's great to be home and sleep in my own bed, but I am starting to find that I the friends and independence I had in Beijing (plus Beijing is just an allaround cooler city than Oakland). 没办法
