Losing the 53rd Street Graffiti Wall
Graffiti artist Shawn Bullen reminisces about the wall’s history. |
I published a short photo essay in the Chicago Maroon about the demolition of the graffiti wall on 53rd Street in Hyde Park. The wall was one of the few places in Chicago where graffiti artists could paint without being hassled by neighbors or the police, but it was demolished in March to make way for a new apartment development.
